Details - Drum/Rhythm workshop
This is an Intro workshop to basic oriental rhythms!
Absolute new beginners are very welcome – both men and women.
Also people with some handdrum-experience is welcome.
You will get some technique-goodies as challenge.
You will learn basic technique on oriental handdrums, mainly the darabuka/tabla/doumbek.
Anybody interested in req/riqq (the tambourine) or various framedrums, we will manage that too.
Drum can be borrowed – please announce when signing up, whether you want to borrow or
bring your own – and whether you can bring an extra drum for lending out!
Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to play live drums with Marianne for
the ATS jam during the Saturday night Hafla at Garaget, Malmö!
And yes – here beginners are also welcome.
The bigger the group, the more fun ;o).

Oriental drum rhythms is fascinating, energy-giving – and just plain fun!
Even the newest beginner can have a great experience playing.
The rhythms can be played very, very basic or more “fancy”.
That’s why rhythms is such a great group experience.
With just 2-3 basic rhythms, it is possible to accompany a Tribal Jam.
